DEPT. H is coming to Netflix! Mike Richardson, Keith Goldberg and Paul Schwake Producing!

When a renowned scientist is mysteriously killed in a deep-sea research station, his estranged daughter is sent six miles below the surface to investigate. With the pressure building and the water rising, she must race against time. To solve the murder, as she uncovers the truth behind the station’s purpose.

Director: Alice Waddington (Paradise Hills, Disco Inferno)

Alice Waddington made her feature directorial debut with Paradise Hills, which premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival and stars Awkwafina, Emma Roberts, Eiza González. She’s currently set to direct the Netflix creature-feature Scarlet. Based on her original idea, Kristen SaBerre writes, and Aggregate produces.

Writer: T.S. Nowlin (The Adam Project, The Maze Runner, Bright 2) adapted the screenplay from the Dark Horse graphic novel.

Dept.H is a comic book series written by and illustrated by Matt Kindt and colored by Sharlene Kindt. It has been published by Dark Horse Comics since April 2016.

Netflix has a first look deal with Dark Horse Entertainment and has previously collaborated with Dark Horse on the action-comedy series Umbrella Academy and Jonas Åkerlund’s feature Polar. Upcoming film adaptations include Mystery Girl directed by McG and starring Tiffany Haddish and Lady Killer which Blake Lively will star in and produce. On the series side, Netflix has greenlit Grendel based on Matt Wagner’s groundbreaking story. Abubakr Ali leads the series as the titular vigilante hero and is currently in production on the animated series, Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles.
